Prevention Plan and Contingency Guidelines for the Covid-19 Pandemic Our Policies & Procedures
The world is a very different place from how it was 12 months ago and along with all of us the hospitality industry across the Globe is having to adjust to the new norms. Putting our guests at ease so that you feel Quinta Bonita is your home away from home has always been our objective and we want you to relax as much as possible in this strange new environment in which we all find ourselves.
At Quinta Bonita we have always been meticulous on our cleaning standards and this is even truer now, going beyond the Portuguese Clean & Safe Guidelines to implement a new protocol for the well being and safety of our guests, our staff and their families.
You will notice that our service by necessity has become more physically distant however we still remain as always at your disposal whenever needed and you will still be able to see our eyes smiling behind the masks. As a small establishment in big grounds and an intimate team we believe we are well placed to continue providing the five star service in a relaxed yet controlled environment.
All guests staying at Quinta Bonita need to confirm that they have read and understood these procedures prior to arriving at Quinta Bonita. Please let us know if you have any questions.
General points
All employees have received extensive training in the Quinta Bonita internal protocol relating to COVID-19 and in the prevention of the possible spread of the virus.
Staff will always wear masks.
We ask that guests wear masks when arriving at Quinta Bonita and in the internal public areas when our staff are onsite. Masks are not necessary when sitting outside on our terraces, when eating or when by the pool.
We have lots of wonderful outdoor sofas, tables, chairs and sun loungers and encourage use of the outdoor spaces over the indoor public spaces during this difficult time.
Sun loungers will be spaced 2 meters apart and all balconies and terraces have their own sun loungers, tables and chairs. If during your villa rental you move the sun loungers, we ask that they are replaced as you found them before checkout.
Books, magazines, information manuals and maps have been removed. You will be asked for your whats app number prior to arrival for us to be able to send all local information digitally
Some rugs and decorative pillows/items have also been removed from all bedrooms & public areas. We understand that this takes away somewhat from the look and feel of the house however they are also potential problem spots for infection and are difficult to clean and disinfect.
Quinta Bonita will only be staffed for check-in and check-out. We are at your disposal via messenger/whats app to +351910775967.
Preparing your trip
As always, we recommend that guests purchase travel insurance so that they are fully covered in the event of cancellation or trip interruption.
We suggest that you bring masks for yourself and your family members. Portugal require that you wear masks indoors and it is considered socially responsible and good civic behaviour to wear masks outdoors.
Because of the need to report any possible cases of Covid-19 to the health authorities, it is crucial that you or someone in your party has a mobile phone that works in Portugal. If you or someone in your party becomes ill, we have a protocol in place to isolate the suspected case and help you as much as we can.
Check-in
All bedrooms will have a minimum layover of 24 hours between departure of one guest and arrival of the next to provide sufficient time to conduct a deep clean of all fabrics and furniture. As such late check-outs and early check-ins wont be available. Check-in remains between 4pm and 6pm and check-out by 10am.
All guests arriving at Quinta Bonita will be sent their registration form requesting passport details and credit card details (if not already given at time of booking) 3 days prior to arrival via email - so that we don’t need to touch your documents on arrival. At this time we shall also ask for your whats app number so that we can provide all local information digitally and be on hand should you have any questions.
We will meet you at the property at your agreed check-in time to show the booking host around, answer any questions and then leave you in peace.
In your room
Pre-covid we had already undergone a re-design over the winter simplifying and modernizing our décor, removing mini bars and televisions from many of the rooms and generally putting a focus more on homeliness, simplicity, tranquility and a disconnect from the outside world.
Beach and pool towels will be left in your room for you to use during your stay.
Cleaning protocols
Our new internal protocol goes beyond the clean & safe label recommendations and ensures that all public toilets and high touch points such as door handles, light switches, pool loungers and chairs have been cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival.
The house has been cleaned and disinfected to the best of our ability however to protect your family and friends we recommend that you use the disinfectant spray provided with paper towels to wipe down key touch point areas on a regular basis.
In line with World Health Organisation recommendations we have changed our vacuum cleaner for a vapor one that kills 99.99% of germs, bacterias and viruses.
Consider leaving your shoes at the entrance of the house.
The air-conditioning and TV remotes have been wrapped in fresh plastic prior to your arrival.
The world health organization recommends opening windows to let air circulate rather than using air-conditioning.
Kitchen
Due to our covid-19 cleaning protocols all cups, plate, glasses and cutlery must be washed in the dishwasher on the 60degree setting. Please ensure all items have been washed in this way on the day of check-out or a cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit.
Yoga Studio
The yoga studio and outdoor bathroom next to the studio are closed and only available on request.
Check out
Please take all your rubbish and recycling with you and do not leave any food in the fridge or freezer.
Please leave your keys on the reception desk in the main entrance hall.
Our staff will arrive at the hour of check-out to check the property once it has been vacated. Since the cleaning procedure takes many hours we would appreciate a prompt departure please.
What if…?
If you feel that you have any of the symptoms of the COVID 19 please let us know as soon as possible. For the safety of your other guests, our staff and future guests it is essential that we are advised immediately. You will be taken by us to our isolation room and asked to contact the national line 808 24 24 24. Likewise, if any of our staff members report any signs of the disease, they will be immediately placed in the dedicated room assigned for this and our internal protocol followed. If you are required to extend your stay due to the guidance of the health authorities any additional nights accommodation and subsequent deep cleaning by third party organization will be on charged.
